Remote access to Sharepoint with SBS 2007?

My company just bought a small business server which will run SBS 2008. Will our remote employees be able to connect to our sharepoint site to view/checkout documents? Will I need additional software (besides what comes bundles with sbs 2008) to do this?

Chosen Answer:

Internet Explorer should be all you need to access sharepoint.

Are you using a dual homed server (2 NICS) and is one of those on the internet? If so then your home users should simply be able to open a browser and access it froma web page. You may have to adjust IIS to allow it.

If you are behind a firewall, then you will need to open up 80 and 443 to your server.

I highly recommend you encrypt the traffic via SSL and enforce the use of client certificates.
